About this Course

Google Apps Image Google Calendar Google Apps Google Sites Google Docs Gmail Google Talk Google Apps is a service from Google that features several Web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites, including: Gmail, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites.

Google Apps offers a small virtual hard drive in the cloud so you can access all sorts of files anywhere. The Standard Edition and Education Editoins are free. There is also a Premier Editions that allows you to purchase additonal space.

For this course we are going to focus on Gmail, Docs, and Sites.

Description of Students:

Although Google Apps are free, many people are unaware that they exist. This website will not only introduce the student to the basics of Google Apps but also wet their appetite to learn more about all of the free Google Applications available.

This website’s target is any internet users who want an alternative to costly desktop applications. There are no prerequisites; however, the student does need access to a personal computer with internet access.

Course Objectives:

Upon Completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Define Google Apps and Cloud Computer
  • Sign up for a Google Account
  • Log in to Google Docs
  • Create a text document in Google Docs
  • Create a spreadsheet in Google Dos
  • Create a presentation in Google Docs
  • Log in to G-mail
  • Compose an e-mail in G-mail
  • Set up an address book in G-mail
  • Send an email in Gmail
